Aim
1) La mission de l'association est de promouvoir, dans le monde entier, l'échange des connaissances et le développement des techniques du génie des structures, au service de la profession et de la société.
Promouvoir la collaboration et la compréhension entre toutes les personnes concernées par le génie des structures et les domaines avoisinants par un échange mondial d'informations et d'expériences.
Renforcer la prise de conscience et le sens des responsabilités des ingénieurs civils vis-à-vis des besoins de la société.
Identifier les besoins en recherche et en développement et encourager les actions nécessaires à la réalisation de progrès dans le génie des structures.

2) The mission of the Association is to exchange knowledge and to advance the practice of Structural Engineering worldwide in the service of the Profession and Society.
To promote co-operation and understanding among all those concerned with structural engineering and related fields by worldwide exchange of knowledge and experience.
To encourage awareness and responsibility of structural engineers towards the needs of society.
To identify research and development needs and encourage actions necessary for progress in structural engineering.
To improve and foster co-operation and understanding between organisations having similar objectives.

3) Die Vereinigung dient dem weltweiten Austausch des Wissens vom konstruktiven Ingenieurbau und der Förderung der Praxis im Interesse der Fachleute und der Gesellschaft.
Die Zusammenarbeit und das Verständnis unter allen denjenigen zu fördern, die im Bereich des konstruktiven Ingenieurbaus tätig sind durch weltweiten Informations- und Erfahrungsaustausch.
In Anbetracht der Bedürfnisse der Gesellschaft das Problembewusstsein und das Verantwortungsgefühl der Fachleute zu stärken.
Forschungs- und Entwicklungsbedürfnisse aufzudecken und Anstrengungen zur Förderung des konstruktiven Ingenieurbaus zu ermutigen.
Die Beziehungen und die Zusammenarbeit mit Organisatinen zu verbessern und zu pflegen, die verwandte Zielsetzungen verfolgen.

1) Les organes de l'AIPC sont : le Comité permanent, le Comité directeur, le Comité technique, le Comité administratif, le Comité des publications, des Commissions de travail.

2) The bodies are : Permanent Committee, Executive Committee, Technical Committee, Administrative Committee, Publications Committee, Working Commissions.

3) Die Organe der IVBH sind : der Ständige Ausschß, der Lenkungsausschuß, der technische Ausschuß, der Verwaltungsausschuß, der Ausschuß für Veröffentlichungen, Arbeitskommissionen.

Activities
1) L'AIPC recueille les expériences et les découvertes de ses membres et diffuse leurs travaux à l'occasion de manifestatons internationales ainsi que par l'intermédiaire de publications techniques et scientifiques; elle s'appuie pour ce faire sur la collaboration active de ses membres.
De plus, certains groupes nationaux organisent des manifestations sous leur propre responsabilité et publient des travaux.

2) IABSE assembles the findings and discoveries of its members and disseminates this knowledge through international meetings as well as through technical and scientific publications. In this activity it needs the active collaboration of its members.
In addition, individual national groups work on their own organizing meetings and issuing publications.

3) Die IVBH trägt die Erfahrungen und Erkenntnisse ihrer Mitglieder zusammen und verbreitet dieses Wissen auf internationalen Veranstaltungen sowie durch technisch-wissenschaftliche Veröffentlichungen. Sie stützt sich dabei auf die aktive Mitarbeit ihrer Mitglieder.
Daneben sind auch einzelne nationale Gruppen in eigener Verantwortung aktiv, organisieren Veranstaltungen und geben Publikationen heraus.

Publications
1) De 1977 à 1990, l'AIPC a publié chaque trimestre ses PERIODICA AIPC, qui comportaient cinq séries :
Les REVUES AIPC comprennent des contributions sur l'état de la science et de la technique dans des domaines choisis de constructions de génie civil.
La série JOURNAL AIPC est consacrée aux différents aspects de l'organisation, de l'exploitation et de l'économie dans le domaine de la conception, de l'exécution et de l'utilisation des constructions.
Les MEMOIRES AIPC comprennent des contributions sur des théories, méthodes et résultats de recherches dans le domaine des constructions de génie civil.
La série CONSTRUCTIONS AIPC présente, dans de courts articles, des descriptions de constructions récentes ou spéciales dans le monde entier.
Le BULLETIN AIPC, enfin, oriente régulièrement sur les activités administratives et techniques des comités de l'association; il donne des nouvelles de ses groupes nationaux ainsi qu'un calendrier international des manifestations.

2) From 1977 to 1990 IABSE has been publishing the quarterly IABSE PERIODICA consisting of five separate series :
IABSE SUVEYS contain concise contributions on the state of knowledge and technology in selected areas of structural engineering.
IABSE JOURNAL is decicated to various aspects of organisation, management and economy in the area of design, execution and operation of structures.
IABSE PROCEEDINGS contain contributions on theories, methods, and research findings in the field of structural engineering.
IABSE STRUCTURES contains brief descriptions of recent or special structures throughout the world.
IABSE BULLETIN reports quarterly on the administrative and technical activities of the IABSE committees as well as presenting news from the national groups and an international calendar of events.

3) Die seit 1977 vierteljährlich erscheinenden IVBH PERIODICA bestehen aus fünf Reihen :
Die IVBH BERICHTE enthalten zusammenfassende Beiträge über den Stand von Wissenschaft und Technik in ausgewälten Gebieten des konstruktiven Ingenieurbaus.
Die Reihe IVBH JOURNAL ist den verschiedenen Aspekten der Organisation, des Betriebs und der Wirtschaftlichkeit im Bereich von Planung, Ausführung und Nutzung von Bauwerken gewidmet.
Die IVBH ABHANDLUNGEN enthalten Beiträge über Theorien, Methoden und Forschungsergebnisse auf dem Gebiet des konstruktiven Ingenieurbaus.
Die Reihe IVBH BAUWERKE bringt in kurzen Artikeln Beschreibungen neuzeitlicher oder spezieller Bauwerke aus aller Welt.
Das IVBH BULLETIN schliesslich orientiert vierteljährlich über die administrativen und technischen Aktivitäten der Organe der IVBH und bringt Nachrichten ihrer nationalen Gruppen und einen internationalen Veranstaltungskalender.
