2) To contribute to the competitiveness, quality, safety and environmental performance of the construction sector and to the overall sustainability of the built environment, by increasing the extent and effectiveness of construction research, technical and process development as well as innovation.
The Memorandum of Understanding listed four principle objectives :
Providing a forum for the development of consensus views on : research, technical and process developments; innovation; initiatives contributing to increased activity in research and innovation in the construction sector.
Promoting such consensus views through the Europpean, National and Regional Institutions.
Promoting collaboration and networking amongst the participating organisations and their constituent bodies.
Promoting the dissemination and exploitation of the results of research through the production of guidance documents, and the organisation of workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.

3) Beitrag zur Wettbewerbsfähigkeit, zu Qualität, Sicherheit und Erfüllung von Umweltanforderungen des Baubereichs sowie zur allgemeinen Nachhaltigkeit der bebauten Umwelt, und zwar durch Erhöhung des Ausmaßes und der Effizienz der Bau-Forschung, der technischen und Prozessentwicklung sowie der Innovation.
Die Bereitstellung einer Plattform zur Konsensfindung betreffend : Forschung, technische und Prozessentwicklung, Innovation, Initiativen zur Erhöhung der Forschungs- und Innovationsaktivitäten im Baubereich.
Förderung des Konsens über die europäischen, nationalen und regionalen Institutionen.
Förderung der Zusammenarbeit und Vernetzung der teilnehmenden Organisationen und ihrer konstituierenden Organe.
Förderung der Verbreitung und Auswertung von Forschungsergebnissen mittels Leitpapiere sowie die Organisation von Arbeitsgruppen, Seminaren, Konferenzen usw.

2) The bodies of ECCREDI are :
ECCREDI Council, consisting of the Prisident, the Executive Secretary and Representatives nominated by ECCREDI's member-organisations.
ECCREDI Steering Group, consisting of the President, the Executive Secretariat and a representative of FIEC, ACE, CEPMC, ENBRI et FEHRL.
Ad hoc Working Groups : WG 5th Framework Programme, WG Policy paper and work programme, Reference Group "Innovation Study, Competitiveness of the Construction Industry".

3) Die Organe des ECCREDI sind :

2) Preparation of consensus views and submission of ECCREDI's policy papers and contributions to Commission reports and Communications.
Projects managed by ECCREDI : EC DG Enterprise - ECCREDI Study on Innovation & Effectiveness of RTD, EC DG Research : TRA/EFCT - Targeted Research Action on Environmentally Friendly Construction Technologies.
Representation of ECCREDI in the Intersectoral Platform (ISP) "City of the Future" : organisation of workshops to promote the 5 FP key action "City of to-morrow and Cultural heritage.
Publication of newsletters, publication of "Generic RTD Topics Database" particularly relevant to the City of To-morrow. Activities are founded by EC DG TREN under THERMIE-Type B contacts.

3) Vorbereitung von Stellungnahmen im Konsens sowie von Politik-Dokumenten und Beiträge von ECCREDI bezüglich Berichte und Mitteilungen der Kommission.
Projekte von ECCREDI geführt : GD-Unternehmen - Studie der ECCREDI über Innovation und Effizienz von F+E; GD Forschung : FRA/EFCT - Targeted Research Action on Environmentally Friendly Construction Technologies.
Vertretung von ECCREDI innerhalb der intersektorialen Plattform (ISP) "City of the Future"; Organisation von Arbeitsgruppen zur Förderung der Hauptaktion des 5. Rahmenprogramms "City of To-morrow and Cultural Heritage"; Veröffentlichung von Informationsnoten, Veröffentlichung der "Generic RTD Topics Database", insbesondere wichtig für "City of To-morrow". Die Aktivitäten werden finanziert über GD-TREN unter THERMIE - Vertrag Typ B.

2) In the framework of the TRA-EFCT, a number of publications are issued, e.g. : Quarterly newsletters, Workshop proceedings, State-of-the-art and market review, Annual reviews, ...
other ECCREDI publications are under preparation.

3) Im Rahmen von TRA-EFCT werden eine Anzahl Publikationen veröffentlicht, z.B. : Informationsblätter - vierteljahrlich, Berichte über Arbeitsgruppen, Zusammenfassungen über Stand der Technik und den Markt, Jahresberichte ..., sowie andere ECCREDI-Veröffentlichungen in Vorbereitung.

2) ECCREDI aims at including the broadest possible representation of construction interests at European level.
Each member-organisation has to involve, as appropriate, other relevant organisations in the preparation of advice and in supporting consensus views on research, technical and process developments and innovation in the construction sector.
At present, ECCREDI represents the major stakeholders of the construction sector, e.g. contractors, consultants, designers, product and material producers and research bodies.
Potential membership of other organisations is presently under negotiation.
There is only 1 class of membership, namely "full membership".

3) ECCREDI ist bestrebt, die größtmögliche Vertretung der Interessen des Baubereichs auf europäischer Ebene zu erreichen.
Jede Mitgliedsorganisation hat nach Maßgabe andere einschlägige Organisationen in die Vorbereitung von Stellungnahmen und in die Unterstützung der im Konsens erarbeiteten Standpunkte einzubinden, und zwar bezüglich Forschung, technische und Prozessentwicklungen sowie Innovation im Baubereich.
Derzeit vertritt ECCREDI die Hauptbeteiligten des Baubereichs, z.B. Unternehmer, Konsulenten, Planer, Hersteller von Produkten und Baustoffen sowie Forschungsanstalten.
Mögliche Mitgliedschaft anderer Organisationen steht derzeit zur Verhandlung an.
Es gibt nur eine Klasse von Mitglieder : Vollmitglieder.
