To facilitate mutual acceptance of fire test reports, and to contribute to the removal of barriers to trade throughout the whole Europe where these barriers are of a technical nature.

To define the quality level for equipment and expertise to be maintained by the fire test laboratories.

To be the principle European body and focal point to which other European bodies concerned with fire safety regulation, fire test standardisation, fire protection products, manufacture of construction products and works, fire services and others will turn for liaison in relation to fire safety advice, research, development and testing services.

Beitrag zur Vereinheitlichung der Brandprüf-Methoden und -berichte, ihrer Beurteilung und Anwendung, und zwar durch Gewährleistung eines Diskussionsforums für Probleme auf dem Gebiet der Brandprüfung.

Definition des Qualitätsniveaus für Ausrüstung und Sachverstand, das es in den Brandprüflabors zu halten gilt.
Beitrag zur Bestimmung und der Verbessung des Brandschutzes für Personen sowie die Minimisierung von Sachverlusten durch Brandeinwirkung.
Hauptorgan in Europa und Anlaufstelle für andere europäische Organe, die mit Brandschutzbestimmungen, Normung von Brandprüfungen, Brandschutzerzeugnissen, Herstellung von Bauprodukten und Erstellung von Bauwerken, Branddienste und anderen befaßt sind, und die sich zwecks Verbindung im Rahmen von Branschutzberatung, F.u.E. sowie Prüfdienst an EGOLF wenden.

2) The main decision making organisation within EGOLF is its General Assembly.
The EGOLF Conseil de Gérance (Executive Committee) acts on the behalf of the members.
In support of its work EGOLF currently has 4 technical committees : Reaction to fire, Fire resistance, Research and development, Laboratory accreditation and quality assurance.
The Presidency is held for 3 years and is renewable once.

Zur Unterstützung der Arbeit bestehen derzeit 4 technische Ausschüsse : Brandverhalten, Brandwiderstand, F.u.E., Akreditierung von Prüflabors und Qualitätssicherung.
Der Vorsitz gilt für 3 Jahre und kann einmal verlängert werden.

2) EGOLF has informal liaison with EC DG Enterprise and member laboratories are currently active in the Advisory group for Notified Bodies, Fire Safety Regulators and Laboratories Groups, and fire sector group for notified bodies.
EGOLF provides practical support to EOTA on fire matters in producing new European Technical Approvals (ETA).
EGOLF member laboratories are active in numerous ISO and CEN Technical Committees and considerable practical support is given by EGOLF and its member laboratories to the work of CEN in producing the new European Fire test Standards.
EGOLF organises conferences on issues important to its members and its stakeholders. The primary stakeholders in respect of the services offered by EGOLF are : Industry supplying products and constructions for use in areas subject to fire safety regulation; The European Commission and individual national regulatory bodies responsible for fire safety; Certification bodies.

3) EGOLF unterhält eine informelle Verbindung zur GD Unternehmen und Mitgliedslabors nehmen aktiv teil in den Gruppen "Notified Bodies", Fire Safety Regulators" und "Laboratories", und Brand-Sektorgruppe der notifizierten Stellen.
EGOLF vermittelt eine praktische Unterstützung an EOTA in Brandschutzfragen im Rahmen neuer europäischer technischer Zulassungen (ETA).
Mitgliedslabors sind tätig in zahlreichen technischen Ausschüssen von ISO und CEN und eine bedeutende praktische Unterstützung von EGOLF und seinen Mitgliedslabors wird gewährleistet innerhalb der CEN-Arbeiten zur Erarbeitung einer neuen Brandprüfnorm.
EGOLF organisiert Konferenzen zu Themen, die sowohl die Mitglieder als auch die interessierten Kreise berühren. Die besonders an den Diensten von EGOLF interessierten Kreise sind : Die Industrie der Produkte und Bauwerke in Zonen, die der Brandschutzregelung unterliegen; die europäische Kommission sowie einzelne besondere nationale Organe für Brandschutzvorschriften; die Zertifizierungsstellen.

2) EGOLF produces EGOLF Standard Methods and EGOLF Technical Resolutions (to be used in support of CEN Standards), an EGOLF Guideline for the Interpretation of EN 45001 as applied to Fire Test Laboratories and EGOLF Newsletters (6 monthly), Plus an annual report.

3) EGOLF erarbeitet EGOLF-Standard-Methoden und technische EGOLF-Resolutionen (zur Unterstützung der CEN-Normen), eine EGOLF-Leitlinie zur Interpretation der EN 45001 zwecks Anwendung durch die Brandchutzlabors sowie eine EGOLF-Zeitschrift (halbjährlich), und Jahresbericht.
