2) Institutions of the federation are the General Assembly and the elected Board of Directors.
While the General Assembly meets at least once a year for a regular meeting, the elections for the Board of Directors assembles - in accordance with the association statutes - at intervals of 2 years.

3) Die Organe des Verbandes sind die Mitgliederversammlung sowie der gewählte Vorstand.
Während die Mitgliederversammlung mindestens einmal im Jahr zu einer ordentlichen Versammlung zusammentritt, finden die Wahlen zum Vorstand laut Verbandssatzung im Abstand von zwei Jahren statt.

2) Since its foundation the FIR organises the international "RCL-Interforum" in one of the member countries once a year, where specialist and technical aspects as well as ecological and economical policies regarding the European construction material - recyclings are covered.
After 2001 the "RCL- INTERFORUM :" will only take place at 2-year-intervals, so that the period between respective events can be supported and bridged via conferences within the European workshop settings.
Furthermore, the "FIR-business days", taking place on a two yearly basis, serves as a vocational training activity, as well as a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences on an international level with participation of political and administrative circles of our member countries.
Within the federation activities, the upkeep of contacts to international and working within building trades organisations and associations is highly regarded, to strengthen the - especially internationally constructive - idea of construction material-recycling as an important economical sector with high ecological significance.
Hereby count professional contacts to the US Department of Transportation, Division Road Construction, and representatives of the Construction and Environmental Ministry of Japan.
The federation is involved in varied activities on a national level through their European aligned professional associations in different European committees and working groups dealing with subjects such as construction and demolition debris, sustainable circulatory management, protection of resources, environment, etc., at the responsible institutions of the European Commission in Brussels.
Furthermore, the federation is in close contact with other construction and recycling relevant European federal organisations (FIEC, BIR, CEPMC, etc.).

3) Seit Verbandsgründung organisierte die FIR in einem der Mitgliedsländer einmal jährlich das internationale Syposium "RCL-INTERFORUM". In dessen Verlauf wurden und werden fachthematische und technische Aspekte wie auch ökologische und wirtschaftspolitische Themen das europäische Baustoff-Recycling betreffend abgehandelt.Ab 2001 finden die RCL-INTERFOREN im zweijährigen Rhythmus statt, wobei die zeitlichen Zwischenräume durch Arbeitstreffen im Rahmen europäischer Workshops entsprechend unterstützt und überbrückt werden.
Zudem dienen die zukünftigen, ebenfalls im Abstand von zwei Jahren stattfindenden FIR-Unternehmertage als Weiterbildungsveranstaltung sowie Plattform des Erfahrungs- und Gedankenaustausches auf internationaler Ebene unter Beteiligung von Vertretern von Politik und Verwaltung aus den Mitgliedsländern.
Im Rahmen der Verbandstätigkeit wird der Kontaktpflege zu internationalen und im Baugewerbe tätigen Organisationen und Verbänden hohe Bedeutung beigemessen, um den Gedanken des Baustoff-Recyclings als Wirtschaftszweig mit hoher ökologischer Bedeutung gerade auch international konstruktiv mit zu stärken.
So zählen hierzu aufgebaute fachliche Kontakte zum US-Straßenbauministerium wie auch zu Vertretern von Bau- und Umweltministerien Japans.
Der Verband wirkt neben den vielfältigen Aktivitäten auf nationaler Ebene durch seine europäischen Mitgliedsfachverbände in verschiedenen europäischen Gremien und Arbeitsgruppen zu den Themen : Bau- und Abbruchabfälle, nachhaltige Kreisaufwirtschaft, Ressourcenschutz, Umwelt etc. bei den dafür zuständigen Institutionen der Europäischen Kommission in Brüssel mit.
Darüber hinaus steht er in enger Korrespondenz mit anderen bau- und recyclingrelevanten, europäischen Spitzenverbänden (FIEC, BIR, CEPMC u.a.m.).

2) For ordinary and extraordinary members of the federation, there is a continuously kept circular by the office in Berlin, which has updated professional-technical, legal, strategic and economical-political relevant topics of the construction material-recycling area.
This is supported with continuous published internal association publications by the FIR office in Brussels, the co called "EU-infos" with the same subjects on a European level with emphasis on decisions and developments in Brussels.
Since 1990, the FIR has the specialist responsibility of the International trade journal "Baustoff-Recycling + Deponietechnik" of the Giesel publishing firm in Isernhagen (Germany) with European-wide distribution.

3) Für die dem Verband angeschlossenen ordentlichen und außerordentlichen Mitglieder existiert ein über die Geschäftsstelle Berlin kontinuierlich geführter Rundschreibendienst zu aktuellen fachlich- technischen, rechtlichen wie auch verbandsstrategisch und wirtschaftspolitisch relevanten Themen des Baustoff-recyclings.
Dieser wird unterstützt im Rahmen regelmäßig erscheinender verbandsinterner Veröffentlichungen durch die Brüsseler Geschäftsstelle der FIR, den sog. EU-Infos gleicher Themenstellungen auf europäischer Ebene mit Blickrichtung Entscheidungen und Entwicklungen in Brüssel.
Der FIR besitzt seit 1990 die Organschaft der Internationalen Fachzeitschrift "Baustoff-Recycling + Deponietechnik" des Giesel- Verlages Isernhagen (Deutschland) mit europaweitem Vertrieb.

2) Presently, 8 national construction material-recycling trade associations of 7 European countries are represented by the FIR.
Additionally, approximately 30 construction material-recycling enterprises belong to the association as direct members, leading to over 500 European-wide working national construction material-recycling enterprises from Austria, Switzerland, Chekia, Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands. These mainly small- and medium-sized companies are internationally represented by the FIR.
Negotiations with other companies and federal associations, especially from the south- and south-eastern area (Hungary, Greece) are presently initiated, which have shown interest in becoming a member of the FIR.

3) Der FIR sind derzeit 8 nationale Baustoff-Recycling Fachverbände aus 7 europäischen Ländern angeschlossen.
Zu diesen kommen ca. 30 weitere Baustoff-Recycling Unternehmen in direkter Verbandsmitgliedschaft, so dass die FIR die Interessen von derzeit über 500 europaweit tätigen, nationalen Baustoff-Recycling Unternehmen aus den Staaten Österreich, der Schweiz, Tschechiens, Deutschlands, Spaniens, Frankreich, Italien und den Niederlanden des vorwiegend klein- und mittelsändischen Baubereiches international vertritt.
Verhandlungen mit weiteren Unternehmen und nationalen Verbänden, speziell aus dem süd- südosteropäischen Raum (Ungarn, Griechenland) sind derzeit angelaufen, die gegenüber der FIR Interesse an einer Verbandsmitgliedschaft bekundet haben.
